Very nice work. Maybe I need to ship you one of those 1909 actions I bought from you and let you make me something!

Tell us about the left side safety on the Mauser. Is it easier to manipulate than the typical right side Model 70 type lever?

bwanamrmSuperb Jim!

I have mixed feelings about that; you would have to get a comment from the owner. That is a Saterlee safety.
By the way, the 270 is for sale

Conservative RiflemanMr. Kobe,
Superb workmanship, my compliments.
I prefer the octagon barrel that you show. I have only one such full octagon barreled rifle and the shank near the chamber does not go 'octagon' nearly as close the the receiver as yours.
Here is yours again.
How much are you asking for the 270?
Great Jim. Love that fiddleback.

Don't know, neither has been fired. The 270 has a Krieger barrel, the half round/octagon and chambering was done by me. I honestly have not had a rifle built that did not shoot.

Jim KobeThe mod was no more difficult than the one for a RH. The safety is a Satterlee. You might Google him up to see if there is one available.

jim, if i may, i'd suggest that when contracting pro photography work, always negotiate color correction with it. it can make a world of difference...

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

I just got his last left-side one from him a couple of months ago, it was one he had found in his goody box and didn't know he had. I had ordered one last year and he was out, said he'd make some more this year but, fortunately for my friend in NZ, he found a leftover one early!
Very nice folks, I suggest you give them a call. The workmanship and quality are superb, IMO worthy of any rifle no matter HOW high the grade. If I can ever afford a custom action, his will be one of my top choices.
Regards, Joe

Don't let all this go to your head until you finish my 250-3000 Peruvian. I'm afraid you will get slow and sit around admiring your art. Hopefully all your hard work is coming back to you.
