stainless or carbon steel (photos added)
On a custom rifle with stainless steel hardware should I use stainless or blued carbon steel screws to attach it with?

Try to match the stainless as close as possible.

The contrast between the stainless and the blued screws doesn't look too bad either. Just wondering what others might think.

However when it's not going to match even close, it's my attitude that contrast is better.

If you're using a greyish or blackish tupperware stock, a few different shades of grey can work very well together.

Hopefully two images posted above of scope mount with blue screws and buttplate with stainless. Errr, pardon the gap between the buttplate and the wood. Due for attention and correction Smiler

Nice base, now show us the rings.
Would it be custom rings as well or Talley's?

Thanks

Talleys, quick detach. The big holdup right now is the bottom metal from PTG. Was told a couple of months ago it would be two weeks but it still hasn't arrived. Now it just sits there in the shop. If it doesn't arrive soon I'll just use an ADL triggerguard and no bottom metal and go with it.
