450 Rigby by Satterlee Arms
Here's one to share with you guys.
It's a 450 Rigby on one of my Satterlee M98 actions.
I did the metal and wood, Jesse Kaufmann did the engraving.

Very nice. There are very few guys who can build an action like that and then do a superb job stocking it.

Smithson rings? Beautiful job by all involved.

I like your treatment of "over the grip" checkering. Nice rifle all around!

The only thing missing on that rifle is a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad! Very important for follow up shots.

Yes,
This one is the 2nd one where I've used Smithson rings.
I built another 450 Rigby a few years back that I set up with Smithson rings as well.
They are solid and lock up well and no levers getting snagged.
I like them, they are expensive, but then what isn't on rifles like this.

Stunning! Love the look of the butt plate, but I don't know if I would be man enough to handle it Smiler

Is that a Weibe buttplate?

Yes, that's a Weibe butt plate.
The other day I was shooting it with my shoulder pad on and my ear protection on and I got to thinking,
What fun is this,..... I need the full effect of this rifle to truly enjoy it.
So I took the shoulder pad and the ear pro off to really feel and hear it as well....it hammers and the report from it has a nice throaty boom to it, as for the bruised shoulder, NO PAIN....NO GAIN....BABY!! jumping

The Wiebe buttplate is unashamedly a copy of a M/S. Has a deeper curvature and is a little wider at the toe. Just spreads out reoil better.

On a 450 Rigby? Not sure how much that helps, but sure lopoks good!

I can say one thing,....I wouldn't want it any narrower.
As far as shooting this one with the steel butt plate. Pulling it in very tightly to the shoulder really helps.
I don't allow it to get a run at me.
