HowardCayford/Olson/Belk Rifle
For those who haven't heard Mike Cayford passed away unexpected back in February. At the time he was working on a stock for my CZ 527 22 K Hornet. Jack Belk did the metal work and Mike was to do the stockwork.
I hired Dennis Olson to finish the project, which is now complete and in my possession.
I will attach a few pictures for anyone interested.

Big Wonderful WyomingThat thing is wonderful.
I have always thought a little CZ 527 in a 6mm PPC with a heavier than sporter weight barrel and a very lithe stock would be a fun little gun.

craigsterVery nice rifle! Had I been the commissioner, I would have requested an RVB Precision flush magazine.

HowardThat's on me. I intended to request just that treatment. Dennis has done that for me on another rifle. It will be going back soon to be done. A very worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

A7DaveBeautiful.

A lovely rifle, but why, pray tell, is the scope mounted so high? There appears to be ample room for lower rings.

HowardGood eye, they are the lowest Talley makes. Dennis Olson will cut them down for a lower fit. Years ago Jack Belk did some metal work on the rifle that included recon touring the bolt to allow lower scope mounting.

bwanamrmVery nice, love the custom .22's!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

The 22 H. cartridge is old and only for shooting at a pest we don't have here in the North East.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.
Beautiful wood and nicely done. Congrats on a fine rifle.

Very nice wood. Would that be considered "broken" fiddleback?

Jim KobeI knew Mike for a while, he was talented and only hindered by his love and attention to his wife and children. He was well on his way to becoming a great custom gun guy, we are diminished.
