nyriflemanTell me about Clyde James
I've seen a few examples of his stockwork, mainly on Pre-64 model 70s, and I like the looks of his work.
Google didn't turn up a lot of information.
Anyone have any experience with the gentleman?

sabreNYR,
Clyde is great guy. Very nice and professional. Local to where I live and I have met and talked to him several times.
His guns are very much in the Beisen theme. Quintessential western style. I grew up loving the Fisher, Beisen etc custom rifles in the gun digests/shooters bibles. This is my holy grail rifle.
I bought a 7x57 on an argentine this fall. Typical 3 shot groups with factory 140gr are well under an inch. Its is light trim and easy to shoot. Workmanship is top notch. After owning and shooting my gun I believe his guns are under priced and are already increasing since I bought mine.
I am a journeyman blade smith and I'm well tuned to see detail in wood and metalwork. I would be happy to discuss my rife and send you pictures. drop me an IM and I'll send you my number.
