What's going on with the trigger?

It has a trigger shoe. Fairly common a couple of generations ago. Easily removable.

I see the shoe, but it looks like it overlaps the trigger guard, and at the very rear of its travel? I have a shoe on one of my model 70's it doesn't look like that?

I have no clue about the trigger shoe...Never had much use for them myself

If I remember the 80's correctly, trigger shoes were most popular for single action target competition with double action revolvers.
