Hurricane??
We had 11 tornadoes in the area. One of my business s in Rowlett is OK and my Son's house is fine. Have at least one friend with major damage. My fishing pond is overflowing and we could get up to 6" of rain. It hasn't let up, but no more tornadoes.

I believe 11 is the current death toll. After seeing photos, that seems very small.

The night pictures of the hurricane, lighted by the lightning, made it look huge.

San Angelo went from 70 and cloudy to 33 and snow/sleet in 24 hrs... it started here about midnight with hail, sleet, rain, snow flurries, high wind...for a couple hrs... quit till morning.. then started over.. sleet, big snowflakes, thunder, ...now its light snow... roads are not frozen over yet, but we're in for several freezing days... precip is supposed to be gone overnight...

I understand. I'm ready for the rain to quit for a few days though.

It's currently sleeting here.

US Hwy 287 is closed between Childress and Amarillo.

Supposed to be over with, by noon Monday.

Luckily we had no physical damage that I am aware of, but we've had over 9.5 inches of rain (gauge overflowed) and it has slowed to a mist, now. Many area roads closed to flooding. Small town nearby, Dekalb, had a roof over one of downtown buildings blown off onto one of two red lights in town.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

They said on the weather this morning that you (Texas) is now going to send some of that warm moist air up here (Minnesota), and we are going to get between 9 and 16 inches of snow this afternoon and tomorrow.

Winter has finally arrived.

Sun is out this morning in the TX Panhandle, snow drifts up to 4 feet but just a nominal amount on the level. Supposed to be over (the snow) for the rest of the week but a lot of clean up for a day.
Now just waiting on the Highway department to get the roads cleared so we can go back to CO where we expect this kind of weather and are prepared for it.

About 3' of snow here in central Texas, looks to be clearing up. roads are open and clear. Cold. Need to feed cows and fill up the deer feeder if I can work up the energy..

I guess I shouldn't have complained about the windy 40 degree days when we went to our first DSC show in January a couple years ago. I figured it would be warm being Texas and all so we dressed light.
By the way, is the weather in southern Texas much warmer this time of the year? CB
