bwanamrmNice rifle!

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Thomas Jefferson

Aaron LittleLooks great! What are the drop measurements when measured from the irons?
28 January 2015, 02:52
CHIPBDuane: is that action standard size,(as opposed to magnum)?

HBHNicely thought out. Standard safety nice touch.
At your advanced experience level, I would expect you'd have welcomed friends from TX up for some shooting

ab_bentleyDuane,
Even though it's made for a standard size action, was there any need to open the loading port for the big bullets/ cases?

Austin HunterThe picture of the recoil lug and magazine inletting with Duane's mark is a work of art.

Aaron LittleI'm really liking your peep sights and can see benefits to them. I think if I was to build myself a rifle I would go this route...maybe when I retire. I'm guessing the windage adjustment is a screw coming in in each side, the hole is drilled and threaded half in the base half in the sight?

Aaron LittleMuch better idea.

setters5Does that big scallop in the follower let the last round get a straighter shot at the chamber?
Greg
Duane,
Super looking rifle. I've handled the 460 Weatherby you build for PH Gerard Miller. He is extremely happy with his rifle. Says its the BEST 460 he's ever owned, yours is 3rd or 4th. That no small endorsement. Not only was born hunted dangerous game his entire life but he is worse than a perfectionist. Great work and well.
One day when I grow up!

jaegerfrankIs there a picture of this Miller 460? Was the caliber choice based on a good personal track record. Thank you!

TommyhawkNice rifle!
I was wondering about the follower. It seems to be custom made. What can you tell us about it?

WoodHunterBeautiful execution of a classic cartridge in a no-nonsense rifle.
I would love to see the opposite side of the stock and your cheek piece rendering.
Folks, it just does not get any better than this! Duane's rifles are the Apex of custom gun building backed by years of practical experience.
