Good Morning All

A general question from over The Pond..... has anyone any ideas on when HS will start shipping their bottom metal and detachable magazines ? I am led to believe that everything is on hold right now pending changes/modifications to production.

I have a build based on a Borden Timberline in 7x57 on hold at present and would prefer a detachable magazine set up. It would be good to know if I should be thinking days/weeks/months to get one or if I should rethink the magazine.

It is destined for a sporting rifle and so I don't want any clunky tacticool magazine setup.

Any news , gratefully received.

Thanks

Don't know what new production HS bottom metal and mags will be like but the stuff I bought about 12 months ago was hardly what I'd call custom grade. Sold off within days.

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

Is the Borden Timberline a Remington 700 profile ?

Also, plenty of other options out there
in terms of DBM and Mag.

I have a 240 Weatherby Mag by Borden Timberline LA enroute in about 12 weeks and I am in the same boat as you are. Check out PTG, GreTan and Stocky's. I might as well buy the Magnum boltface bolt and have it set up as a switch barrel between a .240 Weatherby Magnum and a 338 Allen Express. One more thing lad, check out Wyatt magazine box in Oregon, USA. If you have a shipping problems, perhap's I can help you out?

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. I am unaware of any alternative to the HS unit that will give an almost flush removable magazine, and I looked all over the net. The rest of the field all seem to be for the tactical crowd using fugly AICS/Badger style boxes which just do not float my boat in a rifle with a walnut stock and blued metalwork. Sorry, thats me....

Looks as tho I shall be obliged to go the Williams/Sunny Hill route and be happy with either.

Now the challenge will be to get my hands on one in UK.... as ITAR makes life even more difficult.

Thanks again

Pacific Tool and Gauge do bottom metal that isn't quite Sunny hill or Williams but can get it out of the USA. Better than Remington original by all accounts.
Wyatt will export. Had a magazine box from them after I ditched the HS.

Did you check out Gre-Tan bottom metals?

I hadn't looked at them, but its the same for anything coming out of the US... ITAR regs make things prohibitively expensive , even if one can get the export licence.

I think I can get Williams or Sunny Hill thru Midway UK, they have all the paperwork in place for global exports , so that might work.

Thanks to All for your input.
