thecanadianDaughter's Birthday
My 7 year old got a nice present this year, her first rifle! I finally got everything in place and was able to put it together just a week shy of her party. I still want to have barrel fluted to help balance the rifle but that can wait until next year. In case your wondering, its a Howa SA with a 18" 1: 8.4 twist brux barrel chambered in 6 BRX. The McMillian stock has a very short 10 inch LOP that fits her perfectly and I also installed a Timney trigger that has been set to break at 2.5 Lbs. I took her out to the range today and was just as ecstatic as she was when her first shot went right through the vitals of the Deer target- proud Dad moment.

thecanadianThank you all! I took her out again today and she is really progressing in both her shot placement and group size. I only have a little less then a month before the youth hunt but she is on the right track so far.

Charles_HelmI am sure you won't make the mistake I did....I failed to notice how much my daughter grew from one year to the next, and the LOP was too short for her before I realized it...that was all on me.
It is great how well they do with a rifle that is sized for them.
