Wayfaring StrangerGunsmith to Build Custom Mauser
Any recommendations on good gunsmith for making a custom based on a Mauser action? Not looking for anything too fancy, just quality work.

butchlambertIf you are wanting close to home and are in no hurry, check with David Christman. He is in Delhi, Louisiana. We have several great ones on this forum and I believe in UPS or USPS. I don't let location bother me.

M1TankerI can not reccomend Dean Zollinger highly enough. A little known fact is that he does 100% of the metal work for John Bolliger. Deans prices are very reasonable and his quality is exceptional. I am especially with Deans stock work. His stock design is as good as it gets. He is currently doing a full stock mex mauser in 7x57 for me.

Do a search for "Zollinger" and you will see a lot of work he has done for me as well as a few others here.

odysseyMy vote goes to Duane Wiebe. If you search this site you will hear many good things about Duane. I can say first hand he is a great guy to work with. He's actually building a rifle for me right now and has been very helpful every step of the way. Anytime I call or email him he's very quick to respond if I don't get him right away.
I have no doubt it will be a quality rifle when it's complete.
Great guy.

WinkI understand that several custom gun makers will be at the Dallas Safari Club convention in January. A good occasion to meet the makers and see their rifles.

Nick91These guys build a rifle based on the Mauser 98 as well.
http://jensen-rifle.dkIt's a small danish gunmaker, and from what I've heard, their rifles are among the most accurate around, if not the most accurate. They're pretty too
