bt8897Fisher Round Bottom Metal
Someone tell me about it. Is it a significant difference from his standard style in terms of how the rifle feels in hand? Worth the extra cost?

DArcy_Echols_CoThe Fisher,Blackburn,Swift bottom metal is now sold exclusively by Celeste Fisher. It is a proprietary assembly.
The results when fit to a sporter and shaped accordingly are
well worth the effort
I know Celeste has both 98's and Mod-70 assemblies currently on hand for purchase

bt8897Is it just the floor plate that is rounded or is the assembly rounded as well?

458WinI have one on my 30-06 that Jerry provided and Lon Paul added on the rifle he built for me.
It does give a rifle a much handier feel in the hand. Both the floorplate and the entire bottom of magazine box have the rounded portion.

K W JohnstonA question for gunmakers who have used the Jerry Fisher round action bottom metal.
Will the magazine box on the Mauser version work with short magnums like the 338 win mag ect. ? Or is it designed around the standard '06 case cartridges ?
Thanks.

bt8897I received my round bottom metal today, the brochure in the package says "the mag box is useful for standard cartridges such as 30/06, .270, .280 and many others"

K W JohnstonThank you for the response. Solves my question/curiosity.
I hope you get to put your new bottom metal to good use.

AtkinsonIts the best option IMO..I like lean and mean rifles, no clunk allowed and it does that..
