Rich ElliottFront Sight MOA ?
I posted this on the MZL forum but think it might be answered here.
I have a tech question I could use some help with. My fiber optic front sight bead on my T/C Rengade is .0090" It is 28 inches from the
aperture sight. What diameter cirlce does it cover at 100 yards. That is, what is the MOA at 100 yards?
Thanks

J.D.SteeleI think you mean 0.090" instead of .0090" and if so, then my thumbmail calcs show ~ 11.5 MOA.

Von GruffYep Joe has it in one
Rich work it from the sight correction formula.
.090 times 3600 divided by 28 = 11.57in
or use the formula to find out how much the sights must be mooved to correct a POI
11.57in times 28in divided by 3600 = .09 (actually .0899)

J.D.SteeleBTW if you'll zero that puppy to strike exactly at the top of the bead at 75 yds, then under most circumstances you'll be good to go on deer-sized animals out to 150 yds or so. IIWY after completing the 75-yd zero then I'd check the exact POI at 100 and 150 yds using a center hold, to see how the trajectory looks. Depending upon the MV and BC, you might be pleasantly surprised!

Rich ElliottThanks, Guys.
Yes, I meant .090.

I held the top of the bead at 6 o'clock at 110 yards and hit 5 1/2 low so I suspect a center hold would be dead on and not too high anywhere in between. I'll check this out before I hunt with it in December.
