That safety is a blessing in the thick stuff with a sick bull in waiting to ambush you! it will not go off unless you push it down and pull the trigger or have your head in dark spot. Wink There are no flaws in that gun, none! I hunted it more than anyone in its long career, or close anyway!! tu2

I love the safety on it. Being it was Savage 99 that made the comment about being to easy to flip off, we all know his head is in a dark smelly spot anyway. rotflmo

Yes he keeps it there.. rotflmo

Please don't dovetail the quarter rib, keep it original..Truth is the reason I sold it was I had about decided to drill and tap it for a scope, so I sold it, it was the only salvation for that great rifle! I have these voices in my head that say "go on do it!!" pissers

I said the comment about dovetailing the quarter rib as a 100% joke. This rifle will have nothing changed on it while I'm alive except for a leather covered recoil pad.

That's a beautiful specimen of the Old School breed right there. tu2 I wouldn't change or add anything.

Beautiful rifle and one with nostalgic memories of my dad's FN with which he shot 2 leopards in India in the 1950s.

Nice to see a traditional "British" look. The Claro walnut has been well disguised with red Alkanet root stain finish.

A really nice rifle always causes heart palpitations when I look at pictures or get to handle it.

Hoffman Arms Co. used European walnut.
