This is a basic Mini Mauser in it's third build. It was originally a 7.62X39 barreled action. A Richards Micro Fit stock was finished for it. Wood had great figure, but it wasn't a good inlet. That is typical of Richards in my opinion. An old friend,John Bunch, said I needed to rechamber it. He decided on a 270X39 Ackley. For all intents and purposes it was a 270PPC. It was very accurate. I traded the rifle off for a set of Michelins for my truck. I had second thoughts abot 3 years later and made another trade to get it back. I gave James Anderson the stock and barrel for a project for one of his young Sons.
Kerry Stottlemyer did the bolt handle and the custom scope bases and rings. Karl Feldkamp did the cuts on the receiver. James Anderson provided one of the last pieces of bottom metal. I decided to chamber the Shilen barrel in 220 Russian. It is the parent case for the 6PPC and feeds just great. I love Roger Vardy's wood and he sent me a nice piece. Dean Zollinger carved the stock. The rifle weighs 6.25 Lbs complete without scope.





I think I bought the 3 POS safety from PT&G and Kerry installed it. It does have a Timney trigger now. It ain't fancy, but a really nice carry around tin can shooter. It is as accurate as any 22 cal CF rifle.

Interesting that you are in Texas and got the Wood from OZ. I know that some of the Aussie smiths get nice wood out of NZ!

Roger and I go back a ways. He has supplied me excellent wood for years. My stockmakers like his wood. It doesn't cost that much to get it here either.
The 220 Russian has been around for quite sometime. 99% of the PPC cartridges are formed from it and the brass is readily available.
I do know that good wood is available from the Kiwi's, but why take a chance of going with a new to me vendor.

Definitely a lot of fine work by a couple gunsmiths, and a long laundry list of components by reputable suppliers.

I bought 2 Mini's for future builds one in .223 one in 7.62x39 not knowing what I would really do with them.
After seeing your rifle I now have a better idea of what I need to do with them.
