O'Connor tribute rifles

Mark RO'Connor tribute rifles
Ok, so can our U.S. correspondents tell me if these are available from dealers yet?
Our local Winchester supplier can have trouble getting info, let alone rifles, out of the U.S.

MOA TACTICALWhat was the #2 rifle a Minar or a Biesen?
It kind of looks similar to Jack's gun.
The last m70 Super Grade I owned looked like crap. But this was during the David Miller influenced stock period in the late 1990s.
The rifle also shot like crap, and wood to metal contact was 1/16th or more of an inch. I even bedded the rifle and adjusted the trigger hoping for some big upgrades that never came.
Pretty crappy for a rifle that was as expensive as a Mark V was in 1999 when I bought it.
These new Winchesters have a lot going for them that the ones of the end of the New Haven era did not. In the end most of the new Winchester rifles built by FN I have seen have been nice rifles. Even on the cheaper models.
Good luck to anyone that buys one.

Kaboku68I was told by my local shop that one would be available to me next October. We are in Alaska so its kind of the end of the line for the last distributor but they generally have the kinks worked out of the guns by the time they get here. The LGS is ordering it for me- I explained to them that they better cherry pick me a good stock.
The FN BACO Model 70s are much improved over NH Model 70s but I would advise having a gunsmith to tune MOA trigger.
The stocks from FN Winchester are like a Dicken's Novel- "It was either the Best of Times or the Worst of Times." i.e.You will either get a beauty or a Dog.

Timney told me they were making a trigger to replace the MOA this summer, so if the MOA is a deal-killer for folks, don't let it be.

All I am saying is that the new M70s are gold compared to the ones built in the New Haven. Hopefully this new rifle is a gem too.
But I don't really understand the stock, is it an exact copy?

John SJOC's rifle was stocked by Biesen but the tribute rifle doesn't share the exact same lines. It is a good looking rifle and no doubt many of us long time JOC admirers will want to add one to the collection.

Should be the ULTIMATE SHEEP rifle.
So can anybody give me any info on the Winchester produced rifles? Are they available in the U.S. yet or not??

Carolina ManNo Mark, they are not avaliable. My dealer here in North Carolina is saying late summer.
BTW: Mark there are two versions of the tribute rifles. Haven't looked at what's different but pictures are avaliable on Winchester's Web Site.

I have looked at them on the web site. The higher grade has a metal butt plate. Can't see what else is different???
