gasgunnerCustom Win 52 Target
I put this up on a couple other forums so apologies if you have already seen it. An old 52 target rifle that has been customized. Receiver is pre-A, barrel is a heavy barrel likely off a B, stock appears to be a B marksman style stock. The barrel is 25" long, and appears to have been shortened from the rear as the crown looks original, and the roll stamp on the breach end is about half gone. Stock has been checkered and has a band of carving around the bottom of the grip, the butt, and the end of the forend. The rear sight and base have been streamlined and engraved, the the receiver ring engraved. There is also a custom made handstop that is marked Meg Horton, 1941. I bought it with the intent of using the receiver as a basis for a custom sporter, but now I am not so sure I want to tear it apart.

Lord FrithPlease do not tear apart. Whoever did the modifications had good taste and/or the smarts to pick those who did. Nice rifle, thanks for the pictures.

Idaho Sharpshooterthere were two M52's in the Cabela's in Lehi, Utah in the $700 range when we drove back from SCI last month. Both are beyond collector shape.
This one is just too nice to bubba...
