bwanamrmSome of the most elegant I have seen in awhile. Very nice stuff! What caliber are you building Mike?

LRxThat's beautiful! I really like the checkering treatment around the end of the under lever too.

skbLovely! Who was the engraver?

GrenadierIt looks like Heinz Funk put his mark on the lower tang.

From SDH at

He served a three-year apprenticeship with Master Engraver Friedrich Heinbeck. In 1952 Funk went to work for the gunmaking firm of J.P. Sauer & Sohn where he was the leading house engraver for 21 years. In later years he has been self-employed in the trade with the renowned firm of Hartmann & Weiss ... supplying most of his work.

MHC_TXThe engraver is Heinz Funk. This isn't my action, however Martin Hagn is building me a 300hh takedown and a.223 on a mini-Hagn and he sent me several engraving styles to choose from. I too liked this style and was the one I chose for both rifles.

Glen71I own nothing worthy of such exquisite embellishment, but that sad fact does not prevent me from appreciating it. Bravo!

McKayMike I have never seen one of his singles in a take down. Do you have some photos you could post?

MHC_TXHere is what the takedown looks like with a round barrel. He's building mine with a octagon-to-round barrel.

McKayLooks nice. Have you had Martin build you any rifles in the past? Seams I remember you posting a Ralf single shot years ago. That hooked me and I had him build me one as well in 7x65r. Thinking about taking a G33/40 with me to Dallas next week to get Ralf to build me a 6.5x55 take-down.

Ralf has built a Hagn single shot in 300hh and a .338WM on a ZG-47 action for me. This will be my first time to work with Martin Hagn, but I figure if he was Ralf Martini's mentor then there is a lot to like. I really enjoy visiting with him on the phone......wealth of knowledge and he is a hunter.
I will be in Dallas on Friday glad to buy you a beer.

McKayWould love to be able to get together in Dallas but I think we can only go to the show on Thursday. I have to be back in SLC Friday night for a work function. We might be at the show Friday for the first hour or two.
