That thing is pretty enough!
It's complete enough that the beauty of the rifle is starting to show through.

Thanks for the post. I love to see custom rifles.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

Nice!

30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

Very nice work all the way around. Who did the engraving?
You're going to really enjoy that rifle. My 404 is my favorite big bore rifle.

That wood is unique. Beautiful grain flow and colouring. I don't remember seeing any better recently. Tell us where the wood came from and what it is? I'm going to guess it is bastogne?

Thanks. Actually, I'm nut quite sure who engraved it. My gunsmith is in Italy at the moment, looking at some double-rifle project. Will ask him when he's back at Sunday.

The wood is Turkish walnut. Bought it from Paul&Sharon Dressel in the US. Paid around 900 USD, quite happy with the looks.

Man that is a classic "sow's ear to silk purse" my friend! Beautifully done. Like Forrest, I believe the .404 is my favorite all around DG round.

I wish more manufacturers offered it as a standard option along with the usual 375/416/458 line-up. I want a 404, but ended up with the 416 due to economics.

Great looking rifle Metric!

That is just outstanding! I love the finish and the checkering. The metal work is real nice, especially the finishing on the sights and leaves.

The engraver is a lady by the name Anke Brandt, she's a former engraver for the Merkel factory in Germany. She now lives on the west coast of Norway.

Very fine. I'm pleased that you got the wood from the Dressels, here in my home state. It looks like it was worth every pfennig.

A note. Those pop-up scope covers can be noisy.
