Roger, That's a lovely piece, especially looking at it as an expat Aussie.

I've heard of Connolly, but do you know anything of J Wilkins?

cheers

Wow, the engraving on that piece is first rate...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

Jeff Wilkins was a close friend of mine for 20 years, he worked with me on a number of projects.

Butch, here are some photos focusing on the stock of the rifle and close ups of the engravings.

Duane, I think there might be a rifle somewhere underneath all this engraving. Hard to tell.

Like the absence of a forearm tip. Took many years to come to that view.
