finished...finally

Some fool gunsmith bought the carcass of this old .404 Jeffery rifle. It took LOTS of work but with a little help from Charles Lee who put the scratching on it.....it is done!

For some reason, I find myself wanting another 404...
Really is good to see this gun brought back from the brink. And I mean that - you guys should see what he had to start with. Just goes to show what some vision, time and talent can produce.

I have no idea why the action was the missing component when Steve took this on (I guess somebody wanted an engraved Jeffery action pretty badly) but as he said, having the original bolt, stock and that great barrel was enough to stoke the fire.

that is one of your boxes....4 down. Steve Button did the feed work and it feeds flawlessly. I cut your bow and added the Oberndorf bow.

Steve, Glad to see that you got it finished. I remember making that box. It was the one that told us we could get 4 down in a standard depth. It looks great.

When looked at with a critical eye, there is no individual feature or part that is dominant or that particularly apeals but the entire package oozes class. What a nice old classic. Great job.
