customboltNever saw one that ornate. Albeit not to my liking/style, I can appreciate all the time one or more folks spent doing the work.

Kevin GulletteStockwork appears to be textbook Nils Hultgren.
A very close examination may reveal his initials somewhere.

Yes, typical Nils Hultgren stock work including all the Carved Ivory. His initials are on the Carved Bear. This would have been one of his last works for Weatherby in 1963 - he went to work for Winslow Arms in 1964. Unfortunately, unknown who did all fabulous Engraving and Gold work. BTW, 300 Wby Mag caliber.

FjoldThat hurt my eyes. A lot of skilled labor went into that but it's not to my taste.

ForrestBWhen I was a kid, I lusted over rifles like this one. My tastes changed by the time I got any money.

sambarman338The scope gets me. If the rifle is shot much, the erector tube assy might give up. Then, you'd have to hope the forever warranty returns the same scope, not a new one.

Kevin GulletteNils had his own business......as I can recall seeing his ad in an old Handloader or American Rifleman magazine.
He also stocked the "Hultgren Grade" rifles, for The O'Brien Rifle Co.
Here's a few pics.

Yes, Nils went "independent" when he left Winslow in 1972 and moved to California to care for his sick brother.

Except........
Nils "Hultgren Grade" O'Brien rifles were crafted between 1966 and 1968.....according to Vern's handwritten records.
Seems he did stockwork, coincidentally, for a few "people".

Which one? The Weatherby, or the Winslows, or the Lawson?
