Just too hot. Have put a portable AC in the basement just in time for the cooler weather.

Here in Texas July through August temperatures are usually triple digit. When I go to the shop before sunrise it is already 80 degrees. I usually work until temps go above 90 degrees, then I shut down. I used to air condition the shop but now that I have retired I can't afford our high electricity rates. Today our city hosted the annual bicycle race called The Hotter Than Hell 100. I think it reached 105 degrees .

Craftsman.....tell them the "rest of the story".

That is......last Monday it reached 111 degrees F here.

The first time I rode the HHH, in 1989, it was "only" 103 degrees. Cool

Good times....

HA..here in the PNW, 80 is considered a heat wave!

It ain't the temperature; it's the humidity!
Most people forget (and I did not know until I got here), that we routinely get in the mid to high 90s in the summer; I know, that is nothing to Texans, BUT, the humidity is also 80%, which makes it equivalent to the 100s.
Corn makes its own humidity.
It is hotter here in the summer than Florida and colder than Alaska in the winter. No idea why anyone lives here. Very few actually nice days per year.
Anyway, no one cares about that..
RJ; do something about that hideous schnable tip.

dpcd Agreed.

Not just the heat in our summers. We live in north Texas so in the winter the only thing between us and the north pole is 3 strands on barbed wire fence. Don't get me started on the wind either.

But we like it, it's called population control. If the weather was nice everyone would be moving here.

OK, we give up. Tell us about it. What's the deal with the excessive drop in the stock if it's a scoped rifle? Maybe it would make a good iron sighter.

Stock was from Great American gunstock that I got +20 years ago. Pachy pad.

Action is Chilean Steyr from a complete rifle (bad barrel)

Barrel(s) were from RSI (Bob Reece pre Springfield Armory) Brazilian 7x57. Fellow on AR did the wedding bands.

Wisner 3 pos, bolt handle, D&T, install bbl. done by fellow AR member.

I planned on irons but oh well. Have about 20 hrs in the stock. Took a ton of wood off slimming it down.
