dave wesbrook404, Not trying to be trite or sarcastic, because I am neither, good wood is where you can find it.I hand pick most of my blanks, judging each for grain flow, density and color,in that order, and literally look at hundreds of blanks for every one I buy. ...I don't buy off the internet because you really need to see all four sides of the blank, but Duane gets great wood from Rodger Vardi so I will highly suggest Rodger. In this country you can also get great wood that is properly aged and dried from either Steve Heilmann (530)272-8758 or Gene Simillion (970)641-1126. I know and trust both of these men. ...Dave Wesbrook
Nice work Dave - elegant simplicity...
I have done up a handful of stainless / wood rifles and it works out better than I ever thought it would. The "younger" folks seem to dig the SS thing, so I have followed their wishes.
A second thumbs up for Roger and his wood! I am just starting one with a stick from him.
Again, great work!
Paul

Dennis Earl SmithCongrats on a supremely well done project. Stainless is not my forte, but there is a large following for it. Well done David. Nice stick too. Since form follows function, I expect it to shoot just as well as it looks.
