Duane, That is an interesting looking safety. Is it a pre-war type modified with a lever on the side like a post-war safety?

I could happily make a place for that rifle in my safe.

I like that...and the scope (keeps) gives the rifle good lines and balance.

Back in the day I had a Model 70 .22 Hornet which someone had converted to .222. I was able to find someone with an unconverted .22 Hornet who wanted to convert it to .222, and we swapped bolts. Mine still works like a charm, but it's in the original stock, not a work of art like yours, Duane.

My rifle has a varmint weight Douglas barrel with a 15" twist. Shoots the light weight Hornet bullets really well.

Looks like a fun, easy to carry rifle!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
