Colin MastersMorphy Auctions- someone loved the browning BBR...
Interestingly, Morphy Auctions is selling a collection of BBR rifles stocked in a weird but kinda awesome selection of wood that would make a luthier or furniture maker swoon.
Ebony, Macassar Ebony, Indian Rosewood, Bocate, burl maple, English maple, burl elm, pecan, Brazil wood, burl redwood, thua, ponga, pheasant wood. And one that uses a stick of Cocobolo (my favorite wood in the world) that is fantastic.
Lots of white line spacers and Fajen patterned articrat stocks. Kind of a weird choice of rifles to base a collection like this of of, but neat nonetheless. Someone put a lot of money and passion into doing this.
All of them are in .300 Winchester.

I’d feel bad that I was spoiling it for mr. stix but he has won the cool rifle game.

You're not wrong there. All kidding aside, he has a very impressive collection, judging by the ones I've seen. I don't always share his enthusiasm for the over-the-top designs like Guymon and Winslow, but he has some beautiful classics I'd sell some surplus relatives to get my hands on. That's the thing about his collection - it's so wide-ranging, it has pieces that appeal to everybody.

cdsxAs for Proxibid, if anyone knows a method of viewing the pictures in the listings "un-distorted", I'd love to hear it.

Colin MastersProxybid relays lots of auctions From various houses At the same time and charges you a small fee.
I’m only pointing out these specific rifles.
If you go to morphy’s website, and scroll through their catalog, their pictures are better.
Good way to find the goods.

Michael RobinsonWeatherby used to stock the Mark V in Bubinga. Always liked the look of that wood.

richjthere was a story in the Rifleman years ago with a similar, if not the same project. Guy had the same rifle stocked in dozens of wood species including cross grain redwood.

Thanks, Colin. It was a bit of a runaround for a minute, because I clicked on the link on Proxibid to go to Morphy - same distortion. Then I realized that I would have to get out of Proxibid altogether and bypass them by googling Morphy.
Unless the pictures don't do it justice, a black ebony stock is a waste of what is likely quite a lot of money. Looks no better than glossy synthetic to me. You get the same effect lacquering a piece of birch.

Hello cdsx,
I don't know what happened, but thank goodness I missed seeing these - otherwise I would have spent a small fortune bidding on all of them ..... each and every one. !!! I love BBRs.
Next time you see something like this and think of me ..... please PM me.
