Fantastic Craftsmanship! Although I like iron sights (a lot) I am good with the way youve done yours. To me they are more of a "break glass in case of fire" system that rarely gets used in practical hunting situations. For a DG rifle they should be mandatory, but not so much for a 7X57.

Thanks again everyone for the comments, much appreciated.
On the sights debate, I've taken 2 Sambar deer with this rifle so far, both at about 30 meters. Turns out iron sights would have been all that I needed!
Thought I would add a few more pics of the lettering that was expertly chased by engraver Ron Croxon.

Great rifle, i have a DWM 1908, action built in 1909 , surplus, never built until my smith built on it .

But due to budget i kept it as a Fiber stock rifle for working use for now .

One of the best I've seen lately. In fact DCPD is building a similar 7x57 for me now based upon a copy of an old Rigby stock with a 20" featherweight barrel. It's going to have an incredible piece of American Black Walnut. Should come in under 7.5 lbs scoped.

Beautiful rifle and congrats. That's a real keeper!!!

Thanks once again for the compliments everyone.
Jaeger, l made the bases then silver brazed Leupold Q/D rings into holes drilled in line with the bore. When I sighted it in the windage was almost spot on.
I'm away from home at the moment but will measure the contour for you, l do remember it was 22" though.
