yukoncatMousingfield Action
I'm contemplating having a custom rifle built using a Mousingfield action in 6.5 Creedmore.
Has anyone had a rifle built with this action?
I don't know these custom builders enough to know who's good.

max(hm2)when I was in business a few years ago I built one rifle on this action that was supplied by the customer. I don't really remember any details but I wasn't really impressed with the thing.

No way I could have a rifle with a bolt handle that looked like the handle and knob on my baitcasting fishing reel.

I am trying to figure out what Springfield features were worth stealing?

Me too. I can’t imagine how a bolt handle could get and uglier.

p dog shooterI talk to the inventor/maker at the SHOT show a couple years ago.
He seems to know what he is doing.
I would not be afraid of using one. I felt it is a neat design and should work well.
But when I can buy use Ruger MKII for a lot less and use that action.
Or just use the rifle as is.
I find the them to be over priced.

That is the rub with low production, slightly better made vs high production mass produced products.
Look at all the semi custom actions and rifles that have come and gone over the decades.
Maybe he will make it where all the others haven't, but I doubt it.

Duane Wiebe (CG&R)Ted manipulates the bolt with the web of his thumb and fore finger. Very quick and that bolt handle design works plumb swell for that application.
If I remember right, the action can be changed from cock on opening to cock on closing, or variants in between. His trigger design is brilliant.
Yep..the bolt handle is butt ugly!
