Mauser in 9.3 x 62
I just am in the process of finishing up a FN Mauser in 9.3 x 62 for a customer.

The right side of the barreled action

The left side of the barreled action

A close up of the right side of the action.
Replace the military bow with a 1909 inside release, and hinged the floorplate
New scope bases cut for Talley rings
One of my M70 3 position safeties, and a Timney # 201 trigger
A new bolt handle

A close up of the rear sight island

A close up of the band ramp front sight

Enjoy

Very nice! But, blued before stock work, or is it getting a plastic stock?

Stock work is all done, that why its blued
Customer wanted to reuse the 1950 FN factory stock with a couple of tweaks.

I still have to checker the bolt handle in a 2 panel shape.

That would explain the hefty recoil lug on the barrel

Outstanding, Ive allways admired your work, recall selling a 500 for you some years ago, and was impressed with your big bore stock work..

I had time to finish checkering the bolt handle in two panels, here is a picture of that.

A few more notes about this rifle.

I had to re-machine the inside of the guard to accept 5 rounds of ammo.
Then rework the feed rails for flawless feeding with the 3 types of ammo the customer supplied
It holds 5 rounds in the magazine with no effort, and then drop a cartridge in the chamber, depress the top round, and close the bolt on cartridge # 6

The work on the factory stock, was to replace the rear swivel stud with a Dakota swivel base and add the Pachmayr red pad, inlet for the new extra recoil lug on the barrel

Customer is planning on adding a Leupold 2.5 x 8 scope to round it out

Enjoy

Very nice. I love the idea of using an old frame but giving it new and improved internals. Sort of the firearms equivalent of a resto-mod car. Well executed.

Looks like a dandy!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Wonderful! 1909 Floor metal looks great.
How do you manage to checker steel right up to the border without running over (bolt knob)?

"I had to re-machine the inside of the guard to accept 5 rounds of ammo."

If you remachined the guard, how many 375 Ruger rounds could you fit?
