GIGANTIC Bobcat
I saw a bobcat in my front yard about a week ago that had to be 40lbs! I was so stunned when it crested the hill i thought for a minute it was a mountain lion because of the size. By the time i got a gun to get out there and "move it on" it was gone. My kids play out there for goodness sakes.

Anyone ever seen one that big? I've seen em around 25lbs before, but this was monstrous.

I have taken quite a few bobcats all in arizona and the biggest was 27 pounds. Most people guess cats at a much larger weight than they really are.

My brother catches some big cats. The realy big ones won't make 30 lbs.

A friend trapped a 38 pounder last year. I have another friend with a full mount of one he shot a few years back somewhere outwest that is listed as 52 pounds. It is a large mount!

I have an old friend that used to hunt Bobcats with hounds and he brought one by work years ago that weighed 34 lbs. I could hold it up with its back feet even with the top of my shoulders and its nose and front feet were even with the ground. I'm about 6'1" tall. I was supposed to go with them that night but the VA Gamewarden at the time said I couldn't particapate in the hunt without VA hunting license. That was the biggest cat I have ever witnessed.

I do know that its easy to over estimate the weight of cats, but I have seen mounted ones that were about 30lbs when taken and this was much larger cat. Perhaps i'll see him agian when Bobcat season rolls around again....

I had a great pair of cat hounds (English Redticks) back in the 90s, and took a 33 pounder in Orange County. I had him turned into a Rug and hangs above my fireplace, next to my Dad's ashes. That was a great day...

This one was 44 pounds on a bathroom scale that my wife really liked, I think it may have been reading low.

I shoot one while dove hunting a fence line with pocket full of 20 gauge no 8's.
Bobcats are fairly common here is East Texas and I have been fortunate enough to harvest several.
This very old Tom by far was the largest I have ever seen or taken defintely in the 30 lb range.
One of his ears had cauliflowered up and he was
missing one front feline.
