jdollarno info about your request but an interesting observation. the last issue of African Hunter magazine had an article about weapons for follow up of wounded leopard and showed a picture of a short barreled rifle with a bayonet attached. i also own a Mossberg 590 and it dawned on me that it would make an ideal weapon for this purpose. 2o inch barrel, bayonet holder, 9 round mag and utterly reliable action. i have one that i bought to carry will bowhunting for caribou in Alaska( unguided) as bear protection. it is also fitted with a surefire combat light and after reading the AH article, this seems like a great choice( with bayonet affixed) to follow up Mr. Spots in the dark.after a little practice, i was able to put 3 round of 00 buck in a 20 inch circle at 10 meters in about 2 seconds

EricI like mine. It shoots from either shoulder (tang safety), is reliable, sturdy, and "takes a licking, and still keeps ticking."
