45ottotgf mauser
Just bought a mauser 98 that is sporterized. It has:
tgf
1950
stamped on top of the front ring. I can see no other markings. I have read plenty about it on the web with lots of contradiction.
Where and when was this rifle made and for whom?

45ottoYou need a picture of
tgf
1 9 5 0
where the crest is usually put.
across the front bridge.
the place where the front scope ring is mounted.
Never mind.

KimW9I had one of these as a sporter. Apparently, the East Germans kept making them after the end of WW2 up until 1952.

willy30I believe it is post war czech, with the TGF marking, when they were under soviet control.

Czech rifles were Brno stamped on the side of the receiver. dou was the German designation.
tgf was used for the CZ52.
