kingdAmerica Lost another WWII Marine today
We lost another Marine today. Hunter, John. Served in the Marine in WWII and fought in most of the largest battles, including Iwo. Just got a call from his son, my friend and neighbor since 1978. He was a great guy. One night about 20yrs ago, standing in my neighbors kitchen, he told us that he was a ruuner on Iwo. He said you don't know how fast you can run in boots and sand till somebody's trying to kill you. Side note his grandson is a mortar man in the Marines and is leaving in little while for Afghanistan. Semper Fi!
