Sniper II
I rented Sniper II last nite. Tom Berringer who plays the sniper is forced to use an old military rifle found in a basement in Bosnia as his sniper rifle. Tom picks up the rifle and rather expertly exclaims that he has found a 7.92 mm German Mauser Rifle...one of the finest rifles ever made.

Just one problem, he was holding a 7.62x54 Russian Mosian Nagant. What a Dumb Ass. Don't those hollywood types realize that Gunnuts watch movies like Sniper and we know the difference.

In addition to naming the wrong rifle they just happened to find an old scope with a side mount scope mount in the same basement and the rifle just happened to have a rather nicely blued and turned bolt handle.

Just in case someone is interested....

Hollywood has never been known to let the truth, facts, or historical accuracy get in the way of making a film.

Sniper 2 sucks worse than the first version! It isn't worth renting....even on "cheap movie" night!!! JNC91 has only scratched the surface with the screw-up he mentioned.....the movie is full of that kind of trash......

I agree, not worth the 3 bucks to rent it.

I know this is a silly question so go ahead and flog me now.

In Sniper I, Berringer's character get's his trigger finger twisted off with a garot.

Does he shoot left handed in Sniper II or does he miraculously grow his trigger finger back?

Sorry, I had to ask.

The few scenes that show his shooting finger you can see that he attempts to fold the finger so that it appears he has a nub. You will see this in the very first scene if you wanna watch the movie.

Actually, if you watch carefully, the gun is different from one scene to the next, as I recall...While its always a Mosin-Nagent, one time it has a "bent bolt" as a sniper model should, but in another it has a straight bolt (kinda hard to work, with a scope!)
