HeftyLeftySVT-40 questions
I understand that the russians used the SVT-40 by their sea marines with great effect during WWII. I have seen just about every other russian milsurp rifle except that. Anyone got one, seen one for sale, know the going price? all info appreciated. thanks

EricI sold mine last year for $375.00 and the price seems to keep going up. I seem to recall one for sale recently on GunsAmerica.
You might try a search there.
Regards,
Eric

I had one once in Munich, Germany that I got from a Hungarian refugee in 1956. He had used it with great effect to kill Russians, and to shoot his way out of Hungary!
I paid $25.00 for it at the time, and it was my first introduction to a rifle that had a muzzle brake on it. Recoil was somewhat tamed, but it was HARD on the ears!
I note that the Soviets withdrew this arm from service during WWII, and replaced it by re-issuing the Mosin-Nagant 91/30 bolt actions instead!
