M-16 mil spec uppers
I'm looking for both an A-2 and an A-3 upper, both completely mil spec, indistinguishable from a military issued weapon. I shoot a lot of military cometition and up until now I have been training with an H BAR upper. The differance in weight and twist are my concerns. Any one out there know of a shop or company that offers these?

Hmmm.. I seem to remember CDNN selling M16 uppers recently. I know a few places have them occasionally. Perhaps do a search over at www.ar15.com

CDNN lists A1 uppers.

DPMA, Rock River, etc. etc. etc. They all have 20" A2 uppers. There is one major difference between an AR-15 upper and an M16 upper though, the bolt carrier is different. So, you'll not be able to get one that's exactly like an M16 upper, since the ATF considers a semi with even 1 full auto part to be a machine gun, and therefore illegal.

Try SARCO in the Shotgun News. They will occasionally have them. Even if you don,t see them in the add, call. They don,t list everything.

I agree, minus the bolt carrier (some say the bolt carrier is the only part that will not get you in trouble showing intent to build a machine gun, others say yes, I would rather not risk the jail time), several people build exact clones of what you are looking for. I guess colt would really be the go to people for new (not surplus) uppers that match what you are looking for.

Wrong. Possession of M16 fire control parts and/or an M16 bolt carrier, along with an AR15, and no valid tax stamp has been ruled constructive intent by the BATFE. I don't understand why everybody is sweating what amounts to Mickey Mouse bullshit on this. If you buy an M16 upper for use on your AR15, simply shitcan the M16-specific parts or give them away/trade them to someone who has an M16. Problem solved.
