Bill McWhat is it???
It appears to be a .308 with a small copper projectile. Headstamp has 5 4 K.

Matt NormanThat's a real stumper. Has you confirmed it to be a .308 cartridge? Some low-power, low-recoil projectile for some purpose. Spotting? Training to duplicate a grenade launcher? Indoor range practice load?
Just guesses on my part as I have no clue.

ireload2Sure that is not a 6.5X55 training round?
The bullet is a little hollow cup.

6.5 X 55 Ammo10 February 2007, 06:22
Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Appears to be some sort of a training round. I've got a few boxes of 7.62x54r Russian training/practice cartridges that have bullets that resemble those very much. Can a set of dial calipers be used to take measurements to determine caliber and case dimensions for verification of cartridge determination. R.

ireload2This is from Matts Perrson's page. It has a lot of good stuff about the Swede Mausers.
More on 6.5X55 ammoI had 100 rounds of that ammo I bought to reload with some Berdan primers.

EdmondIn various european countries such ammo is/was used for Anti Tank Rocket Launcher short range practice training.
There is a french made ammo that is used in 89 mm AT weapons, that duplicates the trajectory of the rocket up to 75 meters using a lead round bullet in a conversion system.
