Anybody have any info?

So far as I can tell the main difference is the absence of the rear peep sight and the addition of a military style step sight to the barrel.

Cant find any info online.

There is no mention of a Model 40.
The one I have looks like this:

except no scope or aperture sight.

I am starting to think that the rear sight was put on by somebody who couldnt find or afford the original peep sight.

Any place to find smallbore military style sights, like an index of them?
