xgruntGreat video of flight operations on USS John C. Stennis
USS JOHN C. STENNIS
This is great! Make sure your sound is on and turn this on to full screen! An excellent video of carrier operations - close and personal segments included in the PBS Carrier series.
Note: This nuclear-powered carrier can steam for 22 years without refueling. The U.S. Navy has had nuclear-powered ships and submarines at sea for decades without accident or incident. Maybe we ought to commission the U.S. Navy to develop, administer, manage, train and supervise our national nuclear power program.

FlagsI did 3 years on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72. Matter of fact, I pre-commed her and am a plankowner. A carrier is one hell of a piece of military hardware. Capable of hitting just about anywhere we want without having to get permission to use someones airspace.
If they would just turn all the carries loose with shoot to kill orders we could solve a lot of this country's problems in less than 2 weeks.
