what is your utility/truck gun
I thought this would be a good topic. I always like to hear what other peole carry while out on the farm in loafin around in the woods. I usually have my refurbished enfield no 5 carbine in 303 or a marlin 25 in 22. these are the guns i grab when i just wanna go out and walk around the woods or cruise the property in the jeep.

If I expect to do a little casual shooting, I bring my 10/22 stainless synthetic, topped with a pro-point red dot scope. For the infrequent walk around my parents' farm, I tote my Remington 700 in .223, constantly hoping to see a coyote.

I also use a Jungle Carbine as my carry in the trunk gun.

Mosin M44. $49.95 at Big 5. Groups 4" at 100, which is not wonderful, but is adequate for fairly close-in shots. Cheap ammo, plenty of punch. I put a tupperware stock on it, which increased the cost by a bit over 50%. It does the job, and if it falls in a raging river, I will not cry all night over its loss.

Marlin M1894 in .44 Mag, with 9 PMC 180gr JSP's and an empty chamber. Of course, that was in Arkansas. Now I live in a place where the gov't doesn't even want you to have a rifle in your house, much less in your car or truck.
