Funny how the statistics come from the Naval Health Research Center but every pic is of a grunt jumping from a chopper.

A waste of 9 minutes of my time, of which I have, according to them, not many left.

I'm not sure what I just watched. Nor why it was made. Seems to me there's a dose of BS in this and I don't understand who is gonna profit from this.

My thoughts exactly....I hope those death numbers are inflated. I plan to make it past 2015.

All I know is that the Veterans at the local VA Hosp, are still in cammies and defending the perimeter. Big issues with Viet Nam era vets are substance abuse, PTSD, and homelessness -- not necessarily in that order.

Who knows?
Look at some of the numbers.
1992 DOD Index said 2,719,908 served in RVN. This was later revised to 3,001,012. Probably, after the War Library came up with the number after allowing for separation for duty with other agencies, etc.
VA indicates that 1/3 of the 3.2mm are surviving.
War Library surveys indicate that during the 1995 to 2005 timeframe, about 11mm people claimed service bringing the total to 13,365,000.
Realistically, looks like somewhere between 2.7mm and 3.2mm but it still makes you wonder--can't they get any closer than 500,000. Wow!!
They don't even know how many they started with so how can they spout off numbers of those still living.
How ever many of you are out there, and I hope it's more than some of the numbers bantered around, I wish you a long and happy life.
Look back but don't stare.
