Hi anyone living on the east coast that can share some light on the best city to live in and info on where to go hunting all rely welcomed.

The best Canadian city to live in is Vancouver or Victoria, B.C. and the finest hunting is in B.C. as well as in the Yukon and N.W.T.

If, you are an Australian citizen, you would feel at home here and, if, you are a tradesperson, RN, MD or other skilled professional, B.C.-Canada would welcome you with open arms.

There are lots of Aussies and some Kiwis here in B.C., good people and some have even been known to drink a few pints.....

Alberta is a great province too for big game hunting and place to live. BC great for BG hunting too, especially sheep & grizzly.

IMO, I personally would stay away from the east coast and Ontario- not much for work.

If you are moving to B.C. for the hunting and fishing, then go to where it is, towns like Chetwynd, Pemberton, Fort Nelson, Williams Lake, Prince Rupert etc...

Not like I am any expert on B.C. but I don't think the hunting in Victoria or Vancouver is too good. I don't understand why anyone would want to live in the city.

Get Gatehouse's advice (or some of the other B.C. residents).

B.C. is definitely the place to live though, there is no hunting anywhere else in Canada. Whoever said there is good hunting in Alberta, they are lying... lying to you!

If you are looking for work and a wide variety of hunting and fishing opportunities, the northern half of B.C is your best bet. Any trade or skill related to construction or oil/gas related, you should have no trouble finding work. Forestry related work, has taken a beating in the last few years. Of all the huntable species of N.A. game, all but a few are available to hunt in BC on regular licence or Limited entry .

Best of luck with whatever you decide, only thing I'd be wary of is the cost of living in many areas. There can be a BIG difference between what you'd pay for a house in Regina or Brandon compared to what you'd pay in Calgary or Kelowna. Canada is still largely uninhabited and there is a lot of hunting opportunities out there, but I personally would stay in western Canada (anything west of Ontario).

I"m from the UK and have been to BC,NB,NFLD and AB.
I"ve been going through the immigration process for almost a year and a half, hoping to get my permanent resident status this year. It can be done if you have a trade, but there"s a lot of form filling and waiting. Oh, and I had a man feel my testicles the other day. Apparently that"s part of the medical, or at least that"s what he told me.
That cost me £224 pounds. I"ve had them felt cheaper, but I did"nt get a certificate.
Anyway, I"m really looking forward to getting out of the UK, and beginning the settling in process in Canada. It"s a great place, with lots to do and great opportunities. Well worth looking into.

I was in NSW (Griffith) for a year as my wife was on a teacher exchange for one school year. We are putting in for an exchange again next year.

I live in Alberta and there is a good variety of hunting and fishing here.
