Mariomountain goat winter hunt?
I've seen ther'are areas in B.C. where you can hunt goats until Feb. Very interesting. Any experiences? Success rate? Outfitters?

SkylineMario it is the west coast mountains and weather blows in off of the Pacific. I use to live out there and hunt in the coast range. The snow is usually heavy and wet. Not like the nice dry powder snow we get further inland.
And as jhaney indicated it can be deep as they get a LOT of snow in that country. May want to buy a set of snowshoes and get practiced up.

LongwalkerI have given up on goat hunting in good weather because although I am physically fit, my inner ears give me balance problems and it is very easy to fall to your death in goat country.
You may be an experienced climber of winter mountains, I don't know, but climbing goat cliffs in winter with slippery conditions and poor visibility for feet & handholds seems to me to be an excellent opportunity to die young!

Mariodont worry. I lived all my life in the Alps mountains and I know quite well the snow

LongwalkerGood to know Mario. You will have an excellent adventure i'm sure.
Winter goats have very long silky hair, and the hide will be a wonderful trophy as well as the horns!

woodsiealthough I havent hunted with Millagan outfitting, I am booked to grizzly hunt in 2015 with them. They have been a pleasure to work with, and have a very good name out there. Good Luck with your hunt, my Utah Mt Goat in September was a killer. In the winter though, When the goats are lower, I would think that the altitude is much easier on the lungs.
Good Luck.

KathiMario,
My husband booked a winter (February 2014) with Bolen/Lewis here at the SCI Convention.
They were very friendly and enthusiastic. Will let you know how it turns out.
