Canuck32And now the Latest Antis hunting tactic to shut it all down
Anti's latest tactic they are framing hunting as "Pay to Slay" if you buy a guided hunt!!
If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness."

Grizzly AdamsThe Masses are idiots who will buy into this simplistic crap, tough to counter.

sheephunterabHunters play a critical role in science-based management and these hunts contribute significant dollars to conservation....end of story!

Canuck32Also notice the tone change where they are throwing conservation depts under the bus and all the work they do. Using the BC Griz change and playing the decline game when it was a political decision with had nothing to do with actual population.

JASmithThere are two factors in play that give the antis more sway: First, Increasing urbanization means that only a small fraction of the populatiom gets to see how much fun shooting is, much less the utility of firearms as tools. Second, the right to bear arms needs to be established as a fundamental right.

The end game of the anti's no mater their stripe is disarming the population.
Doing away with hunting is just one step no hunting one less reasons to own guns.

JASmithWell stated!
The primary tool in the war of minds is knowledge about what firearms are and what they are used for.
Absent that knowledge in the larger population, the antis can all too easily use the “don’t need” and fear arguments to sway folks into agreeing to disarmong those of us who do have firearms. Remember, one does’nt need a gun until he or she needw it bab and rigiht now...
To the best of my knowledge, Canada does not have an equivalent to the US Second Amendment and that allows firearm ownership to be treated as a “priveledge” and not related to the fundamental right of self defense.

2A is a fundamental right as recognized by SCOTUS under the US Constitution.

sheephunterabNot in Canada it's not though!

bluefishyou did have a right to life in your constitution though. the logical extension of this is the right to protect one's inalienable right to life. time for another lawsuit I think.

sheephunterabNot with a Liberal stacked Supreme Court it isn't. Our ability to own firearms has never been in question......just the laws around that ownership.
