I have Hunted Duck/Geese, Mule Deer, Pronghorn with these two outfitters in Alberta and would recommend either. Friends have hunted Whitetail with both. I found them both hard working an honest. I'd like to hunt whitetails in either Manitoba,Sask, or Alberta. But have never done it before.

I've made enough outfitted hunts to know a traveling hunter can easily be ripped off by a few scum bag outfitters that give the rest a bad name. Also I am aware there are many booking agents that always claim their outfitters are the best.

If anyone has used a good quality outfitter where they had nice clean accomodations,good food and had fair chances of success. topped off with being left like they had a great trip,please send me a message with their name and web site.Thanks BB

I'd like a legit. chance of seeing a 160"+ and reasonble chance at killing a 150".But more than that I want a good honest effort but forth by the outfitter/guide.
Like most guys I realize not every trip ends with a cooler full of meat and a rack for the wall. But I don't mind going home empty handed as long as I know The guy I gave my $ to made just as much of an honest effort at helping get my game as I made trying to get it.
I'm no rookie to the travel to hunt game,it's just that I've never traveled for whitetails. BB

You could try buying an issue of Big Buck Magazine and calling some of the outfitters in there.The magazine is printed in Saskatoon SK and most of the outfitters who have adds in it are from Western Canada.Papershredder

papershredder: therein lies the problem, I've seen zillions of ads in mags and the on the net. trouble is a "shopper" doesn't know if they are honest outfitters or not. Relying on the references they give is iffy at best.
I once went with an outfitter for elk that gave me a dozen references, they all spoke highly of him ( I called each) I found out in camp of the 12, 5 worked for him as guides the other 7 were family members! as you may imagine that is not all he was dishones t about! BB

Yep;I can see your point there.I was more referring to getting your outfitters names from the stories within the magazine.One outfitter in Alberta I have saw in there quite a few times is Percival&McKinnon Outfitters(780)635-2391 or (780)623-3040.Since they have guided mutiple clients to bucks featured in Big Buck they must be doing something right.Good luck in your search;Papershredder

Be sure to check with fish&wildlife to see if the outfitter has been convicted of game law violations as the Alberta Outfitters Association rarely suspend outfitting licenses even if the outfitter has had several convictions.Out fitted hunters have previously been involved in illegal activities without even knowing about it.
