Just got this reply from CZ USA, to my question whether it was correct that the CZ550 American Safari Magnum in .458 Lott was not available in Canada:



"That is correct we do not have a license to sell outside of the united states at this time. You can try contacting the factory directly and see what they suggest. There email address is info@czub.cz

So far no progress, in fact it got worse...there are no straight-stocked CZ550's with the distributor in Ontario. Just the old hog back...for anybody interested, he does have 5 .416 Rigby's in stock, see www.czub.cz and check the "Standard" model for specs. See www.cz-usa.com for the address of the CDN dealer (who btw imports directly from the Czech Republic).

Why not just get a 458 win mag, and have a smith open it up for you? I looked at one of the "factory" 458 Lotts, and they did an ugly job of stamping over the win mag with Lott, looks like the job of a typical hack smith.
