TXRandyLooking for a Bear Outfitter
I'm looking for a Bear Outfitter in Canada, probably a baited hunt. I've shot a few Black Bears and weould prefer an area with a high concentration of Color Phase Bears. My wife will be going with me. Any suggestions/recommendations will be greatly apprreciated.

DoglegTry Victor at
http://www.poplarpointresort.com/index.php Bears are way up this year, and there's a lot of browns in the area. Its not a wilderness fly-in hunt, more a fishing camp atmosphere that might be better with your wife. The hunting is better than the fishing, and Victor is as honest as the day is long. I've hunted much of his area as a resident and have land up that way.

CougarzWizard lake outfitting in northern Alberta does a really nice job. I shot two black bears this spring, a 7 foot black and a 7 1/2 foot chocolate color bear with a 19 7/16 inch skull. Needless to say I was pretty pleased.
The chocolate is my avatar picture.

NakihunterI know you want a baited hunt .... and you are taking your wife ....
I am no expert - I live in New Zealand .....
But I had a fantastic hunt in British Columbia Tinmusket Creek off Williams Lake / 100 mile junction.
Plenty of colour phase bears in late Aug. The locals claim that the spring bears show more colour variance. As the season progresses the coat gets dirty and darker. Mine looked black until I looked close up and it showed shades. After the taxidermist had finished with it, it was a fantastic brown.

+1 for Northcountry LodgeI hunted with them in Maine in 2014, and I will say that this is a first class outfit. I would not hesitate to book a hunt with them at their Flintwilderness camp. And I may just do that next year, if I can talk my hunting buddy into going again..

James ScottHunted with Safari River Outdoors in Saskatchewan twice for bear. (
www.huntcanada.com), both being successful. Great area for color phase bears. Flew into Saskatoon, rented car and drove to camp, about 3 and a half hours, as I remember. excellent stands and plenty of them. Did the main camp and the outpost as well. Great guides, good food, etc. I assume your wife will be hunting as well. PM for any info I left out.
