sheephunterabCanadian Hunting Television
Lots of changes in the past few weeks for Canadian hunting television. The World Fishing Network has become the Canadian version of The Sportsman's Channel with primarily hunting programing and Wild TV has partnered with with Pursuit TV to become Wild Pursuit Network. Apparently hunting television isn't on it's way out just yet!

A.J. HydellWow!
Sounds like what U.S. stations used to call '
Must See T.V..' ... But that was
waaay back in the mid-'90s.
Obviously Canuk Landia is still catching up.
But as my girlfriend likes to say: 'Better late than pregnant!'

All The Best ...

You are staring to show a bit

Grizzly AdamsI believe Hunting isn't meant to be a spectator sport.

sheephunterabNo doubt some do but it's encouraging to see networks becoming stronger and viewers numbers increasing. Hopefully this is a sign that hunting too has a bright future!

ALFMy take:
Hunting for non first nation people is facing a dismal future !
With various bands asserting their perceived land title rights hunters are facing blockades and harassment ! Harassment ranging from illegal road blocks, people coming into hunting camps and harassing hunters, to frank vandalism of vehicles and trailers !
To boot there is no recourse ! The RCMP wont act, the government won't act.... the BC wildlife federation is tippy toeing around the matter and hunters have nowhere to turn to even though the wildlife regulations clearly point out that it is illegal for anyone to interfere with a legal hunt ! Add to the mix the fact that less and less tags are being made available for resident hunters.
This but one part of the picture, the other is one of gun shops closing down in small communities... it becoming more and more difficult to access guns and ammo. Rod and gun clubs are under pressure with less and less people joining. Youth participation in sports like trap has fallen away ! Even archery is feeling the pressure !

In the end, Native hunting can't but destroy the resource and pussy footing around it will do the same.

totally agree.
the reason for your point three is the point two ... no action from the one representing us at the head will not lead any one to join a useless org only so far the outfitters are well organized we on the other side are not.
on another note i do not have any tv or cables since a while and live well ...

Sign in the Whitehorse Canadian Tire, Due to the complexity of government regulations, we will no longer be selling firearms.

medvedyes we got the same sign here in whitehorse.
it is more that for ever they had no one with PAL license and too much hassle lol with the blue ledger.
guess what they are selling ammo and that is the same constraint as firearms so imagine they were making money on ammo not firearms ... plus you need someone that got a clue when you sell rifles or shotguns ....

sheephunterabC71 is going to put a lot more requirements on retailers selling firearms....likely the start of many that will stop selling them!

NortonSounds like there may be a civil war in Canada at some point in the future. Like someone said, "natives" could give a fuck about conservation if they're anything like the "natives" here in the states. Really despicable what's happening up there.

No, we're just slowly being assimilated, more pro Native crap being forced down our throat every day. Can't start a public meeting these days, without thanking the natives for putting up with us.

Maybe they should thank us for all the benefits of civilization we brought them instead.
