WannabeBwanaRenewing my PAL
Was just checking out the CFC site to see when I have to renew my PAL. It expires in November.
I downloaded the application form and is asks for my certificate for having done the training course. They already have that on file from my first application. Do I have to hunt it up and send it again??

JumperPlainsIf you sent it in the last time you applied they will have it on file and you don't need to send it in again. If not, you will have to send it in.

tikka300I too recently renewed my PAL and had the exact same question. I phoned the CFC and they told me to write "results in the system" in the box where they ask about the test.

Frans DiepstratenWhen I upgraded from unrestricted to restricted not to long ago, I included a copy of the unrestricted course as well. CFC did a really a fast job, just a couple of weeks. Called them, actually got somebody on the phone who knew her business....after they took 2 months to answer an e-mail last time, really a step up.

GatehouseThe last time I renewed, I just checked the "YES" box..
If you had a PAL once, you MUSt have taken the course. I could't find my course paperwork, of course...
If you had it once, you don't need to provide the course info. Yell loudly if it is a problem!!

CanuckThe form is very poorly set up for renewals. There are scads of fields that are redundant considering a prior approval for a licence. All they really need is a current address and the disclaimers checked, then they can re-do your background check for security. Having to provide references, etc, again is a pile of crap. A vehicle is a deadlier weapon, yet I don't have to go through all that rigamorole to renew my driver's licence.
