Source for cast bullets in Canada?
I tried to order some cast bullets from Beartooth Bullets and discovered that they are no longer shipping to Canada due to U.S. regulations.

Can anybody recommend a source that can be accessed from Canada? I'm looking for 44 mag and .45/70 and maybe a bit of 30 cal.

I really wanted to try that 525 gn. Beartooth bullet in my new Marlin 1895GS 45/70. Then again, maybe its for the best, that must be a real kicker!

Two Tone,

Why not cast your own? Living in Newfoundland, the cost of shipping components, especially bullets was costing me a fortune. Finally decided to start casting my own and haven't looked back. I get all the free wheel weights I want from the local tire stores. Started with just a cast iron pot, a soup ladle and my coleman stove, plus a couple of used Lyman moulds. I later moved up to an RCBS Pro-Melt furnance and my mould collection now fills two .50 cal ammo cans, but I don't have to worry about shipping bullets cross border, etc... and I can tailor them to my specific rifle. Something to consider!

Dugga Boy,

Definitely in my future plans but right now I'm just too busy to get set up.

Lois at The Bullet Barn casts a great 405 grain gas checked bullet for the 45-70. I 've been shooting them for the last couple of years but then I just live down the road. Big Grin
Take good care,
Dave

470 Mbogo,

Yeah, in fact I just got some in the mail along with some 450's and some 350's. I got some 300's for my 44 mag and some 165's for my 30-30 as well.

Lois and her company are great to deal with. Speedy and efficient. I'm very pleased.

Now, if only my Guide Gun would arrive I could begin to play. I'm beginning to become impatient.
